Lions Hospital

In accordance with the Sight First programme of the Lions Club International and 2020 Sight for All programme by the Govt. of India, we are doing more than around 150 free surgeries per month on an average. Our dedicated doctors are at little or no pay to provide skillful surgery to restore sight to the visually impoverished.

Free Eye Screening camps are organised at near and far flundf areas and patients selected for surgery are brought into our hospital, treated and then they are dropped back to their home areas. Our OPD also runs on very nominal card charges and patients benefit by this too. Our speciality Glaucoma Clinic has also been started to help people under the Preventable Blindness Program.

Organised every year under the able Captaining of Dr. G. Jagadish of B I R R D, Tirupathy (one of the largest polio corrective surgery centres of the world). We organise this camp totally free of cost over seven days. Approximately 200 to 300 patients are benefited every year. Every thing from medicines,  food & crutches are provided free of cost. Patients come to us from neighbouring states of Bihar / Orissa / Assam etc. to avail of this facility.

It is indeed heartwarming to see patients who have crawled into our hospital before the surgery walk out after the procedure is done. Food and stay is also provided fee of cost to those who have come with the patients.
